Anyone can do the vanilla deals, but I’m that adviser who thrives on a challenge. I love taking on the trickiest jobs – and getting a positive outcome so my clients can open the door to their dream home.
I deal a lot with first home buyers, refinancing, debt consolidation, investment property funding, and people moving up the property ladder. I also have expertise in commercial property lending, business lending and non-bank lending (for the deals that are still good deals but just don’t fit in the banks’ boxes).
I’ve been doing it for so long now that I’m now assisting some of my clients’ children, which is very satisfying. Having a parent refer their children has to be one of the best referrals you can receive, plus nothing beats helping young people get on the property ladder.
When I started out I was in banking. I became a mortgage adviser in 1992, joining Mortgage Express and servicing all the West Auckland Harcourts Realty Offices for six years – I was the Mortgage Express top performing broker nationwide for six years straight. After going on to work independently I joined the Prosper Group in 2010, and I’ve never looked back. My financial services expertise is backed by a strong interest in property. My wife and I have enjoyed owning several properties, completing subdivisions and reclads and building our last two homes from scratch.
I am the first to admit I am a bit of a petrol head. Jet sprint racing is my passion, I’ve competed nationally and internationally for 17 years, I was on the Jet Sprint NZ National Executive committee for six years and I am also the Secretary/Treasurer of the Auckland Jets Sprint club. I have also raced karts, jet skis, quad bikes, trail bikes, and my wife and I love cruising in our 1971 Chevrolet Nova classic muscle car. When I am not tinkering with motors, you’ll find me being dragged around the block by one of my two cavoodles or spending time with my twin daughters.
